Ordinary LCD screens use CCFL light sources, that is, cold-cathode fluorescent lamps (similar to the scanning lamps in the copy), with one on each side of the screen and a backlight on the back of the display, which is composed of fluorescent substances. The light sources on both sides can be evenly distributed on the back of the entire screen, so that the entire screen can be evenly illuminated. However, due to technical limitations, the brightness of such a display is not completely uniform, but it is difficult to find it. At the same time, the lamp also has a certain lifespan, and it will turn yellow after a long time.

Conventional 5 inch display screens cannot be seen clearly under strong outdoor sunlight unless they have a brightness of 2000 lumens. To achieve this brightness, the number of high-brightness LED lights needs to be increased, which will increase power consumption and reduce battery life. Our company has successfully mass-produced a semi-transparent and semi-reflective 5 inch screen with a resolution of 800*480 and an RGB interface. It can display clearly in the sun without turning on the LED light, which reduces the power consumption of the machine and is the first choice for many outdoor electronic devices.

​The primary part of an LCD display is an LCD panel, or liquid crystal display. It is a flat panel with two glass panels layered on top of small liquid crystal cells. The crystals align and alter the amount of light that passes through them when an electric current is applied, creating an image that can be seen.

The LCD screen itself does not emit light, and a backlight needs to be added to the back of the glass for normal display. This involves how to test the surface brightness and backlight uniformity of the LCD screen. The brightness of the LCD screen surface and backlight brightness are measured through BM -7 equipment test, the test is more accurate when the display is powered normally and displays a solid color picture.
